Life’s A Journey

December 20, 2011

A stranger on this Earth
A short time visitor
Will someday bow to death
Back to the creator

Life is but a journey
Beginnin it has, surely an end
A mysterious journey
Future you can, past you cannot mend

Don’t fade like a shadow
When the light is blown out
Gum thrown out the window
When sweetness is chewed out

You have a short time to fulfil destinies
And a shorter time to unfold mysteries

Impounded our precious cows
Snatched our dearly loved wives
Dominated our ancestral house
Totally changed our natural lives

Locked in our kitchens
Liberty was deprived we
Slammed on us their teachings
Earth knows we are now free

Could we please clear our weeds
Halt singing the Whites past deeds

You need us to stay off your loot, give us electricity to distract us.

Each time I resume my autistic thinking, me sitting in a world class television studio being interviewed by household names like the ones ringing through my skull but can’t seem to remember right now, I see me almost at the point of tears when asked certain questions about many of those people whose posters ‘decor-file’ walls on our streets every four years. I believe they are either wicked or unwise, except only a few are spared (after reading me look around and you will know the wise ones).  Personally I believe there are two main reasons for joining politics: to serve or to steal.  Let’s focus on stealing. A wise politician will give the people something to distract them from his loot, something they will benefit from, no matter how minute and he’s in business. It is only when I’m hungry that I’l wonder why my neighbour  without a farm has got so many yams. A wise politician will give us uninterrupted electricity not because he cares but this will keep us busy and no one will care even if he spends N15,000,000 on office flowers every week. But it seems like none of them is thoughtful enough to have seen it in this light. Or are they? You be the judge. If your answer is yes, then you may be their attorney against the ‘wicked’ charge.  Think about this and reduce stress while building the nation your way.

We need electricity please.

The current volcanic ash eruption in Iceland has had, still has, and will have negative effects on many people, especially on our schedules as long as its particles remain in the air but have we taken the time to find out if this development is a blessing in disguise?

The current volcanic ash eruption in Iceland has had, still has, and will have negative effects on many people, especially on our schedules as long as its particles remain in the air but have we taken the time to find out if this development is a blessing in disguise?
Yeah, I know humans might benefit from it in someway like car wash and window cleaning business owners, taxi drivers or the lady who’d be reassured of her lover’s affection for her as a result of his unusual gift of exotic flowers lately, and I’ll bet he’ll never let her know they came from Kenya but no, that’s not what I mean.
I mean has anyone taken time out to think about what effects the grounding of many flights across Europe might have on the environment? I am not an expert but I do hear terrible things in the news about global warming and what will happen to life on Earth if steps are not taken to halt it or at least slow down its effects. They say global warming is caused by green house gasses released into the atmosphere by industries blah blah blah and that among the various sectors of our economy which release these things, the Aviation Industry is a very generous donor. I hear activists have suggested flights be abolished-well I’m not really sure I heard that one-but my point is now is the time for environmental activists to find out how much CFCs have been reduced from the atmosphere these past few days many flights to and across some parts of Europe were grounded and the benefit to environment. And also a time to prove to the world that man can actually reduce his dependence on flying.
Who knows if this is Nature’s way of weaning mankind of her breasts or perhaps one of them for now, and I won’t be surprised if we hear that molten magma or something awful like that leaks into our crude oil reserve which makes it impossible to refine. Oh Christ please I can’t imagine our politicians imposing taxes on Nigerians because there’s less oil money to…you know now.
Anyway, what do you think?
